Pura Vida!
I just graduated with a Ph.D. in Robotics from Carnegie Mellon University.
I now work for Goldman Sachs in Tokyo as a trader.
While at Carnegie Mellon, I was advised by Takeo Kanade and James Kuffner.
My research was in humanoid robotics and computer vision. Specifically, I used techniques from vision to aid in providing humanoid robots with the basic capabilities needed to autonomously act in human environments.
I was involved in the RoboOrg organized crime syndicate graduate student organization.
I'm a recently converted non-fan-boy japanophile and have been studying Japanese since fall 2005.
Before graduate school and a brief stint at Yale, I did my undergrad at Cambridge. I grew up in Germany, Greece and Costa Rica. It was warmer there...
